X-Roads is a “low-key, high adventure, no hassle” self-guided tour though some of the most beautiful, rugged and isolated terrain in the country. Navigation, safety and proper bike set-up will be the difference between an awesome adventure or a not so awesome adventure.

Navigation
It is your responsibly to learn and know your GPS
The is a GPS guided event. Trail is not ribboned or arrowed. GPS tracks will be emailed to you prior to the event. X-roads is using the Ride With GPS app. LeadNav is also a great option. We have found phone or tablet based GPS systems to be the way to go. Whatever your GPS solution is, it is your responsibility to learn and understand how it works.
Roll charts can be printed from GPS information if desired, but using a GPS during the ride is strongly recommended.

Safety
Ride with a buddy. Be prepared. Act smart.
Let’s not sugar coat it. Riding dirt bikes in the back country is dangerous. Always ride with a buddy, and make sure someone in the group has a safety tracker such as Spot. You will also want a fairly comprehensive first aide kit. Ride smart and be prepared for the worst.

First Aid
Be prepared
Having a small but comprehensive first aid kit on your bike just makes sense. We carried the Surviveware large kit in Baja. Their small kit is just the ticket for this ride.
