Factory off-road orientated Dual Sport, plated Off-Road Motorcycles, or Adventure bikes will work. You must have current registration, proof of insurance, and a Colorado OHV sticker. Your motorcycle must have a USFS approved spark arrestor and excessive noise is a BIG issue. Your bike should be well maintained, and jetted for altitude (7,000 – 13,000 ft). New tires with ultra HD tubes or bibs are highly recommend.
Your bike should carry 2.5-3 gallons of fuel to complete most loops. If you choose to ride the Rainbow Trail, you will need to be able to complete over 100 miles without access to fuel. Large capacity fuel tanks or the ability to carry extra fuel is required for the Rainbow Trail loop.

We can’t stress enough the importance of bringing a well maintained bike. Even then, things can happen. We highly recommend starting with a fresh service, set of tires, and brake pads. You will also want a skid plate and hand guards. We also recommend running a set of mousses’, or ultra HD tubes at a minimum for you single track and hardcore dualsport riders.
